Business as a Force for Good.
Certified B Corporations are recognised globally as businesses that meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability, balancing purpose and profit. Together, they make up a global movement of more than 8,500 companies across 90 countries and 160 industries, all committed to using business as a force for good.
Becoming the first architectural hardware company in Australia to achieve B Corp certification in January 2026 was a significant milestone in our 40-year history, formally recognising what has always guided how we operate: a commitment to responsible business, transparency and long-term impact across our people, products, communities and the environment.
We completed the B Impact Assessment, answering hundreds of questions and providing documented evidence across all five assessment areas: Environment, Governance, Customers, Community and Workers. Every response was independently verified by a B Lab analyst to confirm our final impact score.
We achieved a B Impact Score of 95.7, well above the 80-point minimum required for certification and nearly double the median score for ordinary businesses.
Achieving certification confirms that responsible practice isn't just an intention: it is embedded in how we are governed and how we make decisions.

Why did SDG pursue B Corp certification?
We are passionate about creativity and exceptional design, but not at the expense of our environmental and social impact. Sustainability has been central to how our leadership thinks and operates for a long time. Our Co-CEOs bring backgrounds in environmental law and environmental science, respectively, so responsible business practice is not a recent priority; it is foundational. B Corp gave us a rigorous, independent framework to formalise and continuously raise the bar on what we were already doing. For us, great design is about crafting a future where beauty and purpose go hand in hand.
